Yahoo! Messenger : Room List using Pidgin

There are many programs for Yahoo! Messenger in Linux, such as Kopete, Gyachoo / Gyach Enhanced, YM for Linux, and Pidgin. Kopete and YM for Linux does not support Room List, use Gyachoo or Pidgin if you want to use Yahoo! Room List.

Now we will try to access Yahoo! Room List using Pidgin :
1. Click icon Pidgin on the Desktop or open menu Start > Internet > Instant Messaging > Pidgin.
2. Click Add button to save your YM! ID in Pidgin.
3. Click Protocol, and choose Yahoo!.
4. Enter YM! ID on the Screen Name box and click Save button.
5. Enter password for your YM! ID and then press OK button.
6. After entering YM!, click Menu > Tools > Room List.
7. Click Get List button to get the available room list.
8. Choose Room you want to enter and the click Join button.
9. Click the verification link.
10. Pidgin then call the web browser and bring you to the verification page..

Important :
Make sure you have set the browser that will be used to open the verification link. If you click the link and no browser opened, it means that you are not set the browser in Pidgin yet. To do this, click menu Tools > Preferences > Browser. Choose the browser you will use and the click OK.

11. Enter verification text that appear on the browser and then click Submit button.
12. If the teks you entered is correct, then Pidgin will take you to the Room.
