Mengamati Proses Kerja Sistem

Linux mencatat setiap kejadian yang terjadi di sistem Anda, baik dalam keadaan lancar ataupun saat sedang bermasalah. Anda bisa memanfaatkan catatan sistem ini, baik untuk sekedar mengetahui proses yang sedang dilakukan sistem ataupun untuk dipergunakan membantu memecahkan masalah yang sedang terjadi dengan sistem Anda.

Semua catatan ini disimpan dalam file /var/log/messages. Anda bisa mengetahui proses sistem ini secara langsung dengan memberikan perintah berikut di terminal / konsole:

tail -f /var/log/messages

Berikut contoh proses kerja yang sedang terjadi ketika suatu flash disk dipasang, dipakai, dinonaktifkan (safely remote) dan kemudian dilepas dari komputer.
